Eternal Adventurer (WN): Chapter 332

Deceive

A group of people talking about their future plans while checking hoof prints.

We were hiding behind a rock, far away from them.

"Looks like they're chasing a horse."

Aritote reads the mouth movements of the group.

"I guess it was a shady case after all."

By the time I whispered that

"I'll go ahead."

Olasha was already on the move.

"Eh? Ah! Hey...!"

Faster than a horse.

He runs silently.

"He is a monster..."

What kind of person is faster than a horse?

To begin with, he must be carrying a lot of stuff.

As far as I know, a sword, a chain, and a few knives.

I guess he's abnormal after all

"The group also moved."

"What do you think will happen if Olasha meets them?"

"At worst, I think Olasha will kill them."

That's true

I can't imagine Olasha losing.

"We'll probably be behind, but let's chase after him."

------------

And by the time we caught up with Olasha, it was already over.

"Olasha, where are the guys who were chasing it?"

"They left."

Easy for you to say.

Why did it end without any battle, conversation, or negotiation?

Olasha explained the situation in detail.

The first thing he found was a child being attacked by a wolf.

The child is now unconscious in Olasha's arms.

"I guess he was relieved that he was able to shake off his pursuers."

Approximately 10 to 12 years old

He's still very young.

Olasha killed all the wolves that attacked the child.

Why beat them to death?

Why not just cut them down?

"There was a pursuer."

"What does that have to do with anything?"

At my words, Olasha points to the cliff.

I look at the cliff.

"…A dead body?"

"It's a bag full of stones."

Then he stuffed two chopped-up wolves into the bag.

Tied the cloak that the child was wearing

And he threw it over the cliff.

"Those who were chasing him must have had a conscience. They left without identifying the body."

Ignoring Olasha who was talking, I asked Aritote a question in a whisper.

"What do you think?"

"I think Olasha is reading too much into it."

I don't know about the Holy King's kingdom, but adventurers tend to be decent people.

At least the people chasing him weren't knights or soldiers.

You can tell by their behavior, as well as their clothes.

The look on their faces gave me the feeling that they had lived a proper life.

"So, what are you going to do, Lucette?"

Aritote asks me

"You can't just leave a child like this alone."

"No matter how you look at it, he’s a child of a noble or something, right?"

"It's a hassle."

But we can't just abandon him.

Olasha will never abandon him

"Aritote, go to the meadow and report on the request. And..."

"Borrow a tent?"

"…Please."

Now we can't even get back to the meadow properly.
