Frontier
I once rode on an airship when I was a child.
My father and mother led me by the hand.
To meet my brother

-The central continent will soon come into view-
The ship's broadcast system sounds
-You're about to see something you've never seen before. If you want to see it, keep your eyes peeled to the window on the right-
The people who will become my colleagues from now on gather in the window on the right.
What I saw from there was a huge tornado.
The dark clouds are swirling at a tremendous speed.
-Until continental liberation, 5... 4... 3... 2.. .1...-
And with the word [zero] on the ship's radio, the tornado disappeared.
No, disappearing is a mistake.
It was clearly blown away by something.
-Knight cadets, we are about to pass a ferry to the Empire. This is your last chance to go back-
No one listened to the broadcast and returned.
And so we set foot on the central continent
A barren land covered in black sand.
A huge mountain of sand, which was said to be the cause of the continent's collapse, rises before our eyes.
But on the contrary
"We will spend the night here today. You can do whatever you want as long as you abide by the laws of the empire."
The instructor who sent us knight cadets to the inn said that and went somewhere.
The accommodation was simple but clean.
It was a place where water and food were not a problem at all.
"Hey, you..."
A knight cadet eating next to me talks to me.
"How do you think they gathered food in this sandy land?"
There's no way I would know that.
"I see..."
With that said, the cadet concentrated on his meal.
The next day
At sunrise, knight cadets line up in front of the instructor.
"We will now begin the practical training!"
With these words, the instructor leads us to a ship.
It was much smaller than the ship we had boarded on the way to the central continent.
There are 10 knight cadets.
Still, the ship feels small.
"Hey! What's that!?"
One of the knight cadets looked through the window and shouted.
What I saw from the ship was a huge pile of sand.
And at the top of it, a huge hole.
"You see that? You will be living in that hole for a while!"
The instructor says with a hearty laugh.
The inside of the ship is rumbling
Some people have teary eyes, probably due to anxiety.
Regardless of our feelings, the ship will go into the hole.
There is a film of light inside the hole.
When the ship passes through that membrane, it is enveloped in a light so strong that it hurts the eyes.

"How long will you guys close your eyes?"
When I heard the instructor's words, I opened my eyes in fear.
Through the window, I could see the clouds spreading out below us.
A ceiling made of rocks above
"Welcome, cadets, to the deep world!"
