Instruction
10 knight cadets line up in front of me
I was told that all ten were 15 years old, but they looked quite young.
(They look young, though?)
While the other knights are talking, I ask Wince
(Isn't it the same as Earth?)
(What do you mean?)
(Like, in a country or time where you can't afford to eat, you age faster?)
I see
In other words, this child-like appearance... that's not a very nice way of putting it.
I suppose this appearance is a symbol of the wealth of the empire.
Let's think so
"...Well that concludes the story."
And so ends the story of the knight instructor.
Finally, it's my turn.
I get up and go in front of the cadets.
"I am Shiro Edgeworth, who is in charge of the knights in this deep world."
At the mention of that name, the cadets are startled.
"You there."
"Y-yes!"
I called out to one of the cadets
"Didn't you just think, [Why is Edgeworth here?]"
"Uh, um..."
"It's okay, I don't blame you. I'm just trying to tell you in advance because there might be some trouble later on."
These are the words I have told all the knights until now.
"I'm a distant relative of the current Lord Edgeworth, and I was entrusted with this land because of my military talent. That's all."
"A distant relative?"
By the way, Shiro is a common name in the current empire.
Like the first Count Edgeworth
They hope that they grow up to be strong, robust, and healthy with a heart of justice
With these wishes in mind.
At the same time, they seem to have a lot of worldly desires, such as wanting to achieve enough to become a nobleman from a commoner status.
Before I knew it, I was a great hero in the Empire.
What the hell is that?
Don't do that. It's embarrassing.
Also, it's not a lie that I am a distant relative of the current Edgeworth, right?
"Some of you may have already heard this, but there are no monsters in this land. But don't let your guard down, okay? There are many creatures that can easily devour you, even if they aren't monsters."
Mainly those that look just like brown bears north of here.
An official knight could deal with them, but I don't think the cadets can.
"What we do here is actual combat. Real knights will teach you how to fight properly."
Was I being a bit harsh?
Everyone was disappointed
Well, I rarely teach these guys how to fight.
I'm busy exploring the deep world.
It takes time to make [graduation certificates] for these guys.
Assuming it will take 3 months for each person.
It takes two and a half years.
