RockQueen Crisis
The newly renovated dungeon has been operating smoothly.
The elves work diligently in the dungeon, making use of their specialties, and enjoy a peaceful life.
The former prisoners from the Empire, who had been concerned about the situation, have become accustomed to living with the elves and are now in close contact with them. They are now helping the elves with farming and hunting, laughing and enjoying each other's company.
However... the one thing I'm concerned about is Reinhard, who has become clean. He now has the personality of a naive young village man, so there's nothing wrong with him, but......
It was so pitiful that because of his appearance, elf women and other former prisoner women were keeping him at a distance.
I tried subtly asking them to take care of him, but everyone said, [Physiologically, it's impossible].
Seeing Reinhard earnestly wielding a hoe for the sake of the elves, I felt a bit uncomfortable.
Now that I had solved all the problems and finished renovating the dungeon, I was enjoying a leisurely life.
I handed over the apothecary's work to the elf apothecarist, and only made high-quality and rare potions. As for blacksmithing, I now teach them to elves who are interested in blacksmithing.
Alchemy is good for both apothecary and blacksmith to learn, so I teach them both.
While teaching the elves in this way, I spent my free time accepting requests from the Adventurers' Guild with my family's group of adventurers, and occasionally visiting the dungeon and interacting with the villagers.
And just like that, summer has passed and autumn has arrived.
As I was having tea with my family on the terrace in the afternoon when the sun began to soften, Fran noticed something and muttered.
"Come to think of it, I haven't seen Midori-chan lately."
I was definitely curious too. I don't really understand what she usually does, as she basically only shows up when I do the morning routine of channeling mana into her and when she eats.
However, recently, there have been more and more times when she doesn't show up to the daily routine or even meals.
"From our perspective, it's a supernatural existence, so I feel like there's no point in worrying about it..."
I answered Fran's murmur.
"Please don't say such lonely things. Light-san is being a stranger to Midori-chan."
Fran felt a little annoyed by my answer.
Even with that being said... the other person is, so to speak, a being comparable to a god in this world, so I'm still not sure if it's okay to treat her so casually...
While I was explaining this to Fran, the adventurer group returned.
"Onii-sama! We have received an emergency summons from the Adventurer's Guild!"
Rain said that in a panic and pulled my arm as if to hurry me.
"What! Now!?"
"Yes. the guild master personally told all the adventurers in the city to gather together as soon as possible."
It is rare for the guild master to make such an order...
I thought it was a real emergency, so I immediately put on my armor, grabbed my sword, and headed for the Adventurer's Guild.
The Adventurer's Guild was crowded with adventurers. I was surprised to see a conspicuous presence among them.
"Old man! Why are you here?"
Yes, there was Mondo, the old man, a samurai dressed in kimono, a sight to see in this world.
"Why shouldn't I be here? I'm here to see you."
"Eh!? Why?"
"I just wanted to have a long talk with you."
Old man Mondo said this with a different serious expression than usual.
"What? What are you talking about?"
I was curious about old man Mondo's expression and asked him again, but he interrupted me by pointing with his chin.
"Rather than that, I'm interested in what the guild master has to say."
In the direction the old man pointed to, guild master, who had a Kaiser beard and a villainous face, began to speak in a loud voice.
"Everyone! It's an emergency! We've received an emergency report from each guild in the north that a horde of an ancient-class dragon and wyverns are approaching us!"
Upon hearing that story, the adventurers erupted into a roar that sounded like a scream.
"Right now, the Frontier Count's knights are heading towards us, but they probably won't make it in time! Therefore, I would like you all to help guide the evacuation of the city's residents! I will give detailed instructions to each adventurer from now on, but please do not panic. I want you to follow my instructions!"
The guild master looked around, looked at me and old man Mondo, and continued talking.
"Fortunately! Right now, Mondo-dono, an A-class adventurer, is here! Mondo-dono! I’m sorry, but I would like you to deal with the dragon. I don’t want to ask you to subjugate it, but I would like you to keep it in check, or just buy some time. Please!"
When asked that question, old man Mondo scratched his head and answered in annoyance.
"If I have no choice but to do it, so be it. On the other hand, if I come back alive, I'll get a reward."
"I understand. Light-kun! Your party is to support Mondo-dono. You, who are familiar with the forest, please lead Mondo-dono. I'm counting on you!"
The guild master immediately assigned tasks to us and gave instructions to each party of adventurers.
"I'm counting on you. Please, Light."
Old man Mondo put his hand on my shoulder and showed me a fearless smile.
I was gripped by a somewhat unpleasant premonition, and decided to take on the challenge of this city's greatest crisis.
