Future Prospects for the Dungeon
For dinner, we served McQueen-san and the others a slightly more luxurious full-course meal featuring seafood and mountain produce from the dungeon.
McQueen-san was carefully examining each item, savoring each item carefully, while Jeraid-san and the others were gorging themselves on the delicacies like the adventurers they are.
"All of them are delicious! As expected of Maria-san!"
Jeraid-san and the others have eaten Maria's cooking on our way to RockQueen, so they know Maria's cooking skills. Jeraid-san and the others were happy with Maria's home-cooked food after a long time.
After the meal was over, we were taking a sip of the post-meal tea, McQueen-san began to speak with a serious look on his face.
"Light-kun, As you probably know, a dungeon is an important source of resources for a country, so much so that it can be a spark of war. And unlike other dungeons, this dungeon is extremely rare in that the Demon King who manages it is still alive. This means that this dungeon can be used to create as many things as one wants. This is something that the country would want to have at its fingertips. So please think about protecting yourself as well as this dungeon from being discovered, Light-kun."
"Well, I don't think an average adventurer can compete with the current Light, but it's better to be careful."
Jeraid-san also warned me to be careful.
"Also, the quality of all the products in this dungeon is quite high, which is different from other dungeons. I once tasted food from the Labyrinth of the Abyss, but it wasn't as good as this one."
"It's not just food. The quality of the ore is also good. Mithril with such high purity cannot be found even in Aisha's Cave."
Hailgrid-san also approved the ore in my dungeon, but I remember that [Aisha's Cave] is a dungeon in the Republic that specializes in mining ore. I feel a little happy when people say that my dungeon is of better quality compared to other places.
"I don't understand the principle behind why all the quality is good, but it is certain that the value is higher than other dungeons. So please be careful."
McQueen-san repeatedly reminded me and warned me.
After that, I received some advice about renovating the dungeon.
If we were going to increase food production, we should also increase the amount of food for processing, which would also help the newly recruited elves find work. I was advised that it would be a waste to allocate all the elves to farming, hunting, and fishing.
And as for processed products, he suggested that we make seasonings, which is something I'm currently struggling with. He recommended the production of salt in particular.
"I feel like the sea here has fewer impurities than the sea in the Republic. If you can make salt well, you can make good salt. Besides, if you want to make miso or soy sauce, it is better to prepare your own salt to keep costs down."
I was told. Next, I was also encouraged to make liquor.
"Light, make some liquor too. If you can eat such good food, you'll want good liquor, won't you?"
It was Jeraid-san and the others who recommended it. It seems that the commercially available beer I served at dinner earlier wasn't enough to satisfy them.
"Jeraid-san's opinion is also good. You can make good alcohol with the ingredients you have here."
McQueen-san seems to agree. There was even talk that McQueen-san would buy the items produced in this dungeon if there were any available.
The second half of the conversation was about renovating the dungeon, but it suddenly changed to how to make and sell items from the dungeon.
The night went on as we talked about merchant-like topics.
It was late at night, but after I sent McQueen-san and the others back to their inn, I reconsidered the conversation with McQueen-san and the others in my head as I revised the dungeon renovation plan.
I went to sleep that night, satisfied with the dungeon's rough draft that was taking shape.
Three days later, I finally started renovating the dungeon.
