Side Story: The Guild Master can't Take it Easy
Annoying……
I trim my proud beard as I look out at the view outside the guild.
It's a little cooler today with a light rain. However, I feel a little uncomfortable because the scenery outside seems to be expressing my feelings.
I must be getting old to be annoyed by a mere view. It's time for me to retire and relax with my wife.
I've put my wife through a lot of hardship up until now......
It would not be worth it if I did not show filial piety to my wife.
But I can't quit being the adventurer's guild master just yet.
I need to at least solve the problems that are happening right now...
What I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is goblins.
Originally, they were insignificant low-class monsters. However, due to their reproductive ability and ease of evolution, it would be extremely troublesome if there were too many.
In fact, the problem now is the number of goblins......
Their numbers have been increasing over the past few years. The number of wolves, boars, orcs, and other monsters has decreased, and the supply of meat in the territory has become stagnant.
Goblins are not the only problem.
Taking advantage of the stagnant supply of meat from this frontier territory, the neighboring eastern duchy is raising the price of livestock meat.
I was concerned about the current situation.
It's a stampede.
This is a term used to describe cases in which the number of monsters has increased to such an extent that they have gone berserk and attacked villages and towns.
The current situation where goblins continue to increase will eventually cause a goblin stampede.
I'm sure of this.
To that end, various efforts have been made, but no positive results have been achieved...
The price per goblin has been raised as a guarantee for adventurers, but the injuries and deaths are increasing only because of the eagerness of low-rank adventurers.
We have also asked for support from the Knights of the Frontier Count's territory, but this has not gone well either.
They are serious. They know their jobs and are faithful to not encroaching on each other's territory.
But now they need to be a little more flexible.
It is too late to do anything until after the damage has been done.
Frontier Count Mascargo himself agrees with my opinion, but he has decided to take a wait-and-see approach for the time being, taking into consideration the thoughts of the Knight Commander. However, he made it clear that if the cause of the increase in goblins is discovered, he and the knights will fight to clean up the situation.
This is the only thing that made me relieved.
I turn to my desk and glance at the report.
It says that 3 adventurers were injured today as well.
Annoying... these goblins...
Then I suddenly remember.
The appearance of an excellent adventurer...
Originally, I wanted him to grow with a little more experience and achievements.
But it would have been a shame to leave him idle with his ability to take down a giant snake......
I rang the bell on the desk.
No, you should leave him as an F rank. He doesn't have enough experience walking around in a forest and using his magic to carry the group's belongings. He needs to support the weaker senpai more so they can't carry their own crap later. -.- So dumb

ReplyDelete....I don't understand why the nobles and guilds couldn't cooperate to send teams of scouts to investigate the situation. At the least, the Lords need to set up defensive measures against the future stampede
