Defeating the Giant Snake
The Garuts I saw with the [God's Eye] was excellent at [Transfer Magic], but other than that, he was trash.
This guy is using [Transfer Magic] to abandon his companions and run away.
To be honest, I thought about refusing when Graham-san said he wanted to work with him, but I agreed because there are few opportunities for us as supporters to go deep into the forest, and it would be bad if something happened to Graham-san.
And if this guy does something, I can take away the [Transfer Magic] without any worries.
As expected, Garuts was trash.
They don't show any kind of attitude towards us, and even when Graham-san and the others hunt goblins, they don't show any gratitude.
Moreover, his magic attack is also sloppy.
This was because he is allocating resources to [Transfer Magic] in case of an emergency, so he is trying not to use his mana unnecessarily.
In addition, he has the intention of forcing a superior opponent to attack others, only to finish the job himself.
In fact, they are now trying to escape from the Giant Snake because they don't think they can beat it.
But it's a pity.
I have already stolen the [Transfer Magic].
I took it from Garuts when he set fire to the orc settlement. I guess he was trying to incite the orcs when he set the village on fire.
I ran towards the direction where Marie-san and Takeo-san were blown away.
"Rain! Please take care of Graham-san!"
Rain understood my intention and rushed towards Graham-san.
After witnessing the tragedy of his companions, Graham-san's hands trembled. The giant snake approached, but Rain's running momentum rammed into it.
Rain, who saved Graham-san's predicament in the nick of time, slashed at the giant snake.
I looked at Marie-san and Takeo-san, they were unconscious, but they were safe. Since I immediately cast [Recovery Magic], it will be fine as long as they regain consciousness.
I immediately ran towards the giant snake.
Then, pour my mana into my sword and pull it out of the sheath at once...
Then I cut the Giant Snake's head off in two.
After a moment of silence, Rain was the first to speak up.
"Onii-sama! As expected!"
Graham-san finally came to his senses and muttered...
"We're saved...?"
My eyes met with Graham-san, who was still dumbfounded.
"Ah, hello."
I accidentally gave a strange greeting.
"Did Light cut it?"
"Ah, yes. Sorry to surprise you."
Graham-san finally thought about his companions and started to panic.
"Marie and Takeo!"
"They're safe! They're both just unconscious. I cast a [Heal] on them, so they're not hurt."
Just as I answered that, Takeo-san came back with Marie-san on his back.
"Takeo! Are you okay!"
"I'm sorry! I made you worry! Marie is safe too!"
Graham-san turned to me and bowed his head.
"Light. Thank you."
"No. I'm glad that everyone is safe. What should we do about that?"
I pointed my finger at Garuts and the others.
They were completely frightened because they had witnessed the whole event because their [Transfer Magic] didn't activate. No, there was probably some confusion due to the fact that it didn't activate. The three of them were hunched over, hugging each other miserably.
"There's nothing to be done. I can't stand being with them. Let's just go home."
"Then, can I take the giant snake back?"
"It's that big. Let's just take the magic stone. The meat and skin are a waste though..."
"It's okay. I can take everything back."
"Can you do it?"
"Yeah."
I used [Spatial Magic] to put away the head and the body.
It had grown a lot to be able to hold a 10-meter-long snake.
Graham-san and Takeo-san saw this and their mouths dropped open.
When we decided to go back. They tried to ignore Garuts, so I had no choice but to tell them that we were leaving.
When I approached, Garuts and the others cried out, [Hii]
It seemed that they were more scared of me than the snake.
"It looks like everyone is going back. Well then."
I didn't want anything to do with these guys either, so I told them that and turned around.
Well, the three of them, not prepared to stay in such a dangerous forest, followed us silently...
After we came back, it was more difficult than killing the snake.
Graham-san and the others reported that they were going to hold a hearing with Garuts and the others, and we had to be there as witnesses.
At the hearing, they suspected that I had killed the giant snake, and Garuts and the others insisted on a nasty split of the reward for killing the snake.
However, no matter how I thought about it, I knew that Garuts and his team could not defeat the giant snake. Because magic attacks would not work on the giant snake. The only way to defeat it is with a physical attack.
And no one in this group is capable of defeating the giant snake. A giant snake is a monster that B-rank adventurers must form a party to subjugate.
To prove that I had really slain the giant snake, I was forced to cut the corpse.
That allowed them to recognize me as the one who killed it.
The board of inquiry revealed that Garuts and his team had done wrong, and because they had fallen under the Adventurers' Guild's law of [Severe penalties for intentional leaving behind or abandonment of rescue] their adventurer qualifications were revoked.
As for the giant snake material, I thought it was going to be split with Graham-san, but......
Graham-san refused to accept it.
"On top of being helped, I can't accept the reward."
He said.
Instead, he asked me to help them as a supporter if another opportunity arises.
Of course, I replied, [I look forward to working with you.]
Although it was difficult, it was a very rewarding request. I was able to obtain the [Transfer Magic] I wanted, and even received the giant snake as a reward.
Right now, I am in a good mood.
Ah yes, the F rank supporter just killed a B rank monster solo. It's too dangerous for him in the forest, he doesn't have enough experience
ReplyDeleteOf course, it's not S rank, any F rank adventurers can do it. Yea? Definitely so.
DeleteWhat a great excuse, guild master.
