Light, 8-Years-Old, is having Worries
Just concentrate on striking the iron.
The skill tells you where to strike the iron. And the right amount of force, the temperature of the iron, and the timing......
Weapons and armor are made by striking with precision.
Master Shan called out to me when one longsword finished.
"Hey... you're getting into bad habit again. I told you not to put so much mana into it...... but it turned into a magic sword again......."
Master made a bitter face when he saw the longsword I made.
I regret that when I also looked at the longsword with the [God's Eye].
[Let's take a break], Master put his arm around my shoulder and took me out of the forge.
"I thought you had stopped emitting much mana, but lately you're gathering mana again. You seem to have lost all awareness of your mana... what's going on? What's troubling you?"
Even so, Master asked after stirring the liquor bottle.
After I came here and learned blacksmithing in earnest, I learned something while striking various things.
Apparently, when I hit it, it retains mana.
That is why most of the weapons I smith are magic swords. If it was armor, it was magic armor.
At first, Master was impressed with it, but he ended up having trouble disposing of the finished product because I made too many.
In the end, the finished product was sold to a peddler heading to the royal capital for disposal.
That's why it became a part of my training to hit it without gathering mana.
Master was holding his head saying, [Originally it's the other way around... but...]
I thought I was able to overcome that habit, but...
Apparently, I've been having some trouble of late.
"Yeah. I have some worries, but... I never thought it would affect my ability to blacksmith..."
"It's a given. There's no way anyone can strike without thinking. Calming your mind is also an important training for blacksmiths."
Master said so and started drinking again.
"So? What are you worried about? You can just ask."
When I heard those words, I expressed my worries.
"Recently, my progress is slow... blacksmithing, swordsmanship, magic, alchemy, apothecary... I'm kind of half-baked through all of them..."
Not only that.
The number of skills that can be obtained through copying and stealing is decreasing.
At one time, I used to skill steal from bad adventurers in the Adventurer's Guild or from people who had spent the end of their lives as apothecaries, or I would look at people on the street with the [God's Eye] and copy anything that looked useful,.......
I haven't come across any rare skills lately.
Also, I have not been able to fully develop the skills I have copied or stolen.
To be honest, all of them are half-baked.
When I thought about that and let out a sigh, Master answered in shock.
"Look... you. Are you saying that you understand how hard it would normally be to master one thing? When I was young, I wasn't even allowed to enter the forge, you know? And now you are so good that you can compete with me. I can't believe it..."
When he said that, I remembered that I had indeed been given a useful power by Evil God-san, and I started to feel apologetic.
Master let out a sigh just like I did before continuing.
"I don't know how far you're looking for things, or what your goals are... but you probably won't find what you're looking for here in this territory."
I looked up, a little surprised by that answer.
"I don't know about other things, but when it comes to blacksmithing, there are many blacksmiths better than me who can teach you.
I can definitely say that I'm the best in this territory, but if you asked me if I was the best in the Kingdom or the Republic, I would be too afraid to try."
Master continued, stirring the liquor bottle again.
"You don't know the world yet. If you want to reach the highest level, you must first find someone who is better than you. And learn! Otherwise, you'll never get what you're looking for."
What I'm looking for...
I wonder what it is......
Sure, I have the skills.
But, that's all.
Am I using those skills now?
No, I haven't even mastered them...
And every skill has a higher level.
Do I want those higher-level skills?
No, I want it.
I want skills if there is a higher rank, I want that too. And I want to master it.
I wonder what……
A feeling of desire that I haven't felt in a long time.
I'm starting to remember that.
In order to satisfy my desires...
Knowing the world, learning from someone above me...
I repeat it in my head.
"You're still a child. Be relieved. It's like they say, [You're a frog in the well, but you don't know the ocean], right? You don't know the ocean too well."
"I want to master my skills. To do that, I need to know the world to learn more."
I try to put it into words to clear my mind.
"Why? You've realized how you feel, right? Have you calmed down a bit? Then make sure you hit the longsword that you turned into a magic sword!"
Saying that, Master laughed and patted me on the back and sent me off to the forge.
Tftc.
