Late Afternoon at Light's House
It seems that old man Mondo, who received the sword I made, [Dai-shirayuki], has been happily doing his job as an adventurer since the next day.
The old man has no money because he used all the money he brought on this trip on the sword. So he seems to be working to earn some money and try it out.
The reason I say it seems so is because I heard all about it from Porte-san, a bear beastman in Jereid-san's party.
Porte-san came to my house to tell Lida about McQueen-san. It seems that McQueen-san will extend his stay in this city this year. Because the old man happily subjugated big monsters, a large number of rare materials flowed into the adventurer's guild, and it seems that he decided to extend his stay in order to purchase them and examine other materials.
"I think it's not just that. I think it is also an apology for the inconvenience he caused Lida on this trip. McQueen-san wanted Lida to spend more time with Light-kun."
Lida looked happy when she heard Porte-san say that.
However, Lida and Rain are actually in a bad mood right now.
Apparently, they didn't like the fact that I stayed in the forge for three days to make the old man's sword, and that they didn't care about the old man.
I've been spending the past few days trying to please these two. Maria is smiling, as if it's funny that I'm unusually bad at the two of them. Lida and Rain aren't really in a bad mood, but there are times when they're just teasing me.
In fact, since I wasted three days of my precious time, I felt that I had to at least apologize for that, so I'm on a date with them.
After all, living like this isn't so bad.
A simple table and chairs are set up in the garden, and the four of us have tea together. Lida and Rain laugh together while stroking Ginko, while Maria looks on and smiles happily.
I drink tea, feeling the happiness of spending time leisurely like this with the people I love.
While spending time with the three of them, I suddenly remembered the old man's words.
Don't hurry too much……
Time is different for elves and humans, so don't rush it......
Hmm... I don't really feel it much.
From those around me, I'm an adventurer, blacksmith, alchemist, apothecary, and healer mage, so I guess it looks like I'm rushing things?
In addition to that, I also train and practice to improve each skill.
What's left is my relationship with Lida... am I in a hurry?
Maybe I'm unconsciously caring because I don't want to let go of Lida? Yeah. I don't understand.
"Lida~. Am I paying too much attention to Lida?"
Lida was a little surprised by the sudden question.
"Hmm... I wonder? I've never thought of it that way, though? What happened all of a sudden?"
"Well, the other day, the old man told me, [You're unnecessarily meddling with that guy. Elves and humans live differently, so if you're too impatient, they won't like you].''
"That person again... unnecessary... You don't need to worry too much. It seems like he had a lot of trouble with an elf woman in the past, so he's worried about Light. Not me. I think my current relationship with Light is just right."
"So... would it be a problem if I said I wanted to live with Lida?"
Lida is troubled by this question. Is the distance of living together still not appropriate for her?
"There's no problem living together, it's actually nice. But... the problem is where we live. I don't think I can live in the kingdom. On the other hand, if we lived together in the Republic, it would be difficult for Maria and Rain. That's what I think. The Republic doesn't discriminate, but there are places where they look down on humans a little.''
"I see... a place to live... I've always dreamed of living with Lida..."
When I said that while my thoughts were wandering, Lida blushed a little.
"Jeez. Don't suddenly say something embarrassing like that."
My thoughts are still wandering.
"Onii-sama? Are you thinking of something?"
"Yeah. Well... the old man told me that I'm in a hurry, but I don't really feel it..."
"Are you talking about the old man again? Onii-sama is a little too conscious of that old man!"
"Well, well. I understand that everyone hates the old man, but that old man is actually an amazing person. I admire his power."
"I think Onii-sama is more amazing, though?"
"No, I'm still far from it. I haven't mastered one thing. I wanted to master something, too."
"Danna-sama? Maybe that's why he thought you were in a hurry?"
Maria's words startled me.
"Is that what he's saying? I see."
"And Danna-sama seems to be having fun doing everything, so if you think of it as a hobby, I don't think it's anything to worry about."
"I see. I guess there was no point in thinking about it too hard."
When I said that, all three of them smiled.
There was no need to worry about what was going on around me. Even though it looked busy, it was just my pace. If I'm okay with it, then that's good enough.
