Side Story: Sebas' Melancholy
I'm Sebas.
I am the chief butler and the family advisor of the Baron Garcia family.
I have been working as a servant since the time of his predecessor, and when the current head of the family, Stefano, took over, I was given the position of advisor of the family.
I have 3 main jobs.
First, I organize the servants of the house. This is a natural job for the chief butler.
And then, as an advisor, I organize the political affairs of the estate in the absence of Stefano-sama. For this purpose, I have been given a great deal of discretion.
And lastly, I am in charge of watching over Light-sama, the youngest son of Stefano-sama.
I am working hard on this last task.
This is because I am dissatisfied with Stefano-sama's attitude towards his son, Light-sama.
No, I am not only dissatisfied with Stefano-sama, I am dissatisfied with everyone in the family.
I know it is unforgivable for a servant to be dissatisfied with the house he serves......
Light-sama's older brothers, Adio-sama and Felika-sama, do not seem to like the fact that Light-sama is the child of the second wife and is a candidate for heir.
Stefano-sama had conflicting thoughts about how to use Light-sama's abilities for politics, or how to not let him use his abilities so that his eldest son, Adio-sama, would not lose face, and in the end, he left him alone and ignored him.
When it comes to Lilei-sama, who is Light-sama's biological mother... I can't even put it into words.
She just treats Light-sama as if he doesn't exist without thinking about it...
I felt sorry for Light-sama, who was treated coldly by his family just because he was born with talent, and as I interacted with Light-sama, I felt feelings for him, and I felt like he was my own grandchild. I started to approach him with similar feelings.
That's not all.
I have been captivated by Light-sama, who has shown extraordinary talent since he was 2 years old.
The more I teach him, the more he absorbs it...
It's not just talent.
From around the age of 5, Light-sama began to be active outside.
First, he started with the Knights, then the Adventurer's Guild, and now he is even traveling to villages outside the capital, where he interacts with knights, adventurers, and the people of the territory.
I was also impressed by his personality.
Light-sama's talent causes some problems (for example, he turns a Fenrir into a familiar), but to me, it's a minor problem.
Light-sama is such a wonderful person.
Now, recently, I have been troubled.
What should I teach Light-sama? That's my problem.
Light-sama has already finished reading all the books in the mansion, and I and Felticia-sama also finished teaching him everything we know.
It was at that time.
Light-sama requested a 6th birthday present.
He wanted to gain knowledge and experience in blacksmithing, apothecary, and alchemy.
This surprised me and Felticia-sama.
We wonder how greedy he is for knowledge and experience...
To be honest, I was troubled.
Being greedy for knowledge and experience...
Could this be just a rush to survive due to his family environment? Or is it because he wants to be independent as soon as possible? Or......
And even though he's already busy with the Knights, the Adventurer's Guild, and the village's medical examination, he thinks why not add three more lessons...
There is no answer even if I get worried.
After all, everything is in Light-sama's mind.
There is no way of knowing that.
Therefore, Felticia-sama and I decided to fulfill Light-sama's wish.
Once I decided to do that, for some reason I started to look forward to it.
I look forward to seeing how Light-sama will grow from now on...
