Japan Pride
I'm at the proposed lakeside base site, impatiently setting up the frame planks for the foundation.
Normally, I would have gone hunting for iron slime, but when I drew the blueprint of the cabin on the ground, I got so excited.
I started at dawn, and finished setting up the formwork by midnight the next day.
"All right, all that's left is to pour the concrete into the formwork, and the foundation will be ready!"
That's what I thought, but since I have knowledge of Earth, I suddenly remembered that on Earth, reinforcing steel is placed inside the foundation.
"Yeah. This is a problem. I'm worried about things like earthquakes, so it's better to put some rebar in there."
It's a mystery whether earthquakes occur in dungeons, but iron can also be made from iron slime.
When iron slime dries, it hardens into iron.
So, there is no problem if I hurry up after defeating it and put it in my magic bag.
However, I have to think about how to defeat it.
Up until now, I've been burning it with fireballs, so if I pick it up, I'm sure I'll get burned.
"From now on, I guess I'll have to defeat them with wind magic..."
Can I cut iron slime with a wind cutter?
It seems a little impossible.
If I compressed air and made it like a gun bullet, wouldn't it be possible to just destroy the magic core of the iron slime?
It's a magic that doesn't exist in this world, but from my knowledge of otherworldly novels from Earth, it is a common magic.
Its name is Air Bullet.
Even the first rank wind attribute magic should be able to activate it easily.
Just to explain, 1st rank magic and 2nd rank magic represent the amount of mana that can be used with one spell.
If you think about it in terms of water magic, 1st rank magic can produce a bucketful of water, and 2nd rank magic can produce a bathtub full of water.
Therefore, I came up with a strategy to compress the wind that can be used with 1st rank wind attribute magic to the utmost limit, create a wind bullet, and shoot only the magic core of the iron slime.
Power increases the more it is compressed, so it is a trick where the power increases many times more than normal fire magic.
I immediately head to the iron slime area and try out the air bullet.
Zoom*!
The air bullet I fired successfully shot through the iron slime's magic core.
At the same time, the iron slime could no longer maintain its shape and became like a cushion on the spot.
I quickly put the iron slime in my magic bag before it hardens.
This air bullet works.
Up until now, I had to hit it with two to three fireballs to defeat an iron slime, but with air bullets, I only need one hit.
I keep shooting air bullets.
But surprisingly, I didn't hit anything.
It seemed to be a fluke at first.
I keep aiming without hesitation, but the iron slime's magic core is small.
It is extremely difficult to pinpoint the magic core with the air bullet.
"Shit! It's frustrating."
I didn't think that the work of putting reinforcing steel bars into the foundation, which I thought of casually, would be so difficult.
However, I want to put rebar inside the foundation no matter what.
As a former Japanese citizen living in a country prone to earthquakes, this is an essential task.
This is a matter of pride for the Japanese people, who never cut corners in construction.
