Why? Why is it so? Is the Privilege of a Young Child
Time passed and I turned 3 years old.
At this age, I was allowed to play in the garden by myself, so I decided to exercise in the morning to strengthen my body.
I stretch and then go for a run. After that, muscle training.
It is frustrating that my body is still young, that it gets tired easily, and that it does not move the way I want it to.
I tried holding a wooden sword to see if I could cover it with my skills. This wooden sword was given to me by Grandpa Malberk as a birthday present.
I have the skill of [swordsmanship].
So, the sword stance and the way to swing the sword come up in my mind immediately.
But when I try to use my body to do the same thing in my head, it doesn't work. It was as if my body was being swung around by the wooden sword.
I realized that if I don't have the basic physical body, it won't work even if I use my skills.
Maybe magic doesn't work unless something basic is done.
With that in mind, I made sure that no one was around, and then gathered mana in my hands. I have copied [wind magic] from Felika. So I tried converting the mana I gathered into wind magic.
The mana is indeed converted into wind magic, but it never actually activates.
Is this that? It is often said that [Image is important in magic!].
With this in mind, I concentrated the wind magic into my right hand and created an image of [Air Cutter] in my mind.
Once the image has solidified, I point my right hand towards the sky...
I shouted [Air cutter!]
Then, I actually felt the mana leave my right hand, and I saw a blade of wind flying towards the sky.
Yep. Image is important for magic. Remember it.
But then a question came to my mind.
I thought that once I learned a skill, I could use it naturally.
The usage of recovery magic also came naturally to my mind.
However, this time's [wind magic] is different.
Converting mana into wind magic was in my head, but how would I actually activate it? What kind of magic could be used? Was not in my mind.
The reason I was able to activate it just now was because I wanted to use it this way.
Is this the difference between a skill you were born with and a skill you acquired?
Or are there different rules just for magic skills...
Yep. I don't understand.
However, this magic question is difficult to ask.
If I ask someone, they'll probably find out that I can use magic (other than recovery magic).
For now, I think I'll pretend to be interested and ask Sebas.
Then, in the afternoon, Sebas came to teach me. Today is supposed to be a history lesson.
However, I asked Sebas something that I had wondered about in the morning.
"Hey, Sebas. I'm interested in magic, can I ask you a question?"
"Hoh. Why is that?"
Sebas took the attitude of listening to me with a soft demeanor.
"I was born knowing how to use recovery magic, but if I learn other magic, will I naturally know how to use it like recovery magic?"
Sebas put his right hand on his chin and began to think.
"I wonder. Your older brother's tutor said that mastering magic as a skill requires a lot of study and repetitive practice......."
"Wouldn't it just come naturally to you once you learn the skill?"
"No, that's not the case. You still need a certain amount of knowledge and experience to use the skill."
"Eh? What is a skill then? If you have experience, is it necessary to have it as a skill?"
Sebas thought while speaking.
"I don’t know what it feels like when Light-sama uses a skill, but when I spoke with Malberk-dono about skills before, I heard that when a skill is activated, it’s like a flash of light passes through your mind. He said that following it would lead to better results."
"I can see how that might be true....... I also found out how to use recovery magic like a flash of inspiration."
"I see. When it comes to skills, each person has a different perception of it. I also have an unusual skill called [Squire], but I haven't had anything called [Inspiration] until now."
Ah... that's right, Sebas also had skills.
That [Squire] skill is an active buff skill. It is an effect that raises his own and his master's abilities while his master is around...
"Anyway, Light-sama has asked a difficult question. This is a topic that is difficult for me to answer on my own."
That's right... sorry.
"As a teacher, I have to brace myself for this. Also, you should ask other people for advice, not just me."
At that, Sebas gets up from his seat and tries to leave the room.
"I will immediately consult with Felticia-sama."
With these words, Sebas left the room.
