Tell Me About It, Grandma Fel! Skill Edition
Two days after Sebas consulted with Grandma Fel.
Grandma Fel participated in my class.
From this time on, I will be studying skills and magic in class.
This class is just for learning the basics and to prepare me for the future when I will study more seriously.
"Well, first of all, I'm going to answer the question that Light-boy asked Sebas the other day."
Apparently, Sebas had talked to Grandma Fel about the question I had the other day, so it was helpful that she spoke quickly.
By the way, Grandma Fel calls me [Light-boy]. It all started when I called her [Grandma].
She must be happy to be called [Grandma], and she pats me as if she were loving her grandchild.
"First of all, innate skills and acquired skills can be thought of as different things. Innate skills, simply put, are gifts from God. This includes knowledge of skills. That's why Light-boy knows how to use it."
While talking like that, Grandma Fel pats my head.
"So what about acquired skills?"
"Simply put, acquired skills are like proof that God has recognized your efforts. Skills emerge as a result of accumulating knowledge and experience."
"For example, if you have a certain amount of knowledge and can use it, there is no problem even if it does not manifest as a skill...?"
"That's true. For example, there is a skill called [cook], but you can cook even if you don't have it. But..."
After saying that, Grandma Fel took out two things that looked like test tubes from her bag. Both contain liquid.
"These two contain recovery potions. These two potions. Can you tell the difference?"
She says that and smiles at me.
"Is the potion on the right of normal quality? Is the potion on the left low quality?"
My [God's Eye] can understand more than that, but I don't think it's good to show off too much, so I answered lightly.
Then Grandma Fel happily answered.
"You're right, Light-boy! It's great to see that your [appraisal] skill have also improved."
Then, Grandma Fel lifts the potion on her left and begins speaking.
"This potion is one I made. I don't have the [Medicine Master] skill, so this is my limit. It took me three hours to make this."
Grandma Fel then switched to the potion on the right.
"This potion was made by an old apothecarist I know, and was made by someone with proper skills. It takes less than an hour to make."
And Grandma Fel continues.
"Now you understand the difference between those who have skills and those who don't. Whether or not you have skills has a big difference in the process and results."
"Hmm... I feel like I've kind of figured it out... I wonder what it's like to use an acquired skill?"
"It depends on the user of the skill. The easiest way to answer that question is to describe it as a flash. In the case of the old apothecarist I know, after she learned the skill, the ingredients of the medicine, the procedure, and the quality of the work became immediately clear to her, like a flash of inspiration."
After listening to the story, I opened my mouth to formulate an answer.
"In other words... is it a craftsman with experience and knowledge? Is it a skill that backs up the intuition of a craftsman?"
"I see... I think that intuition is probably due to the skill."
Yep. I'm still only vaguely able to understand it, but that's probably because I haven't put in the effort to acquire the skills.
After all, I can copy and steal skills, and I thought that's probably why the experience of using skills is different from other people.
Thanks for the chapter
