Queen Side: It was the Queen who Put the Story Together
You are foolish, my son......
I returned to my room, asked the maid to prepare some tea, and sat down on the sofa.
"Would you like me to bring you something for a late night snack?"
The maid asked me this, concerned about the fact that I hadn't eaten dinner.
"No, I don't have an appetite right now. Thank you for your concern."
The maid left me behind and I sat alone in my thoughts.
Today, I interviewed my son, Ains, and the girl, Sylvie, who is known as the [Saint].
My son went to the [Demon Forest] this time to show and demonstrate his activities in order to subjugate the demons and the demon king as requested by the church.
A party of five, led by Ains, Saint Sylvie, Ains' butler Myce, Romel, the eldest son of the commander of the royal guards, and Nyle, the second son of the Prime Minister, with five royal guard knights as their escorts, and three adventurer parties.
And for some reason, Fran and her knight escort were there.
During the interview, I felt angry toward my son, but I suppressed it and asked him why Fran had accompanied him.
He stated that he took Fran to show the royal family's intention to subjugate the demons and demon king, and to pretend that the south was cooperating with them.
I was shocked to hear that.
This is because Fran alone doesn't have much of a political position. Fran is seen by the South as a daughter from the North and born in the South, so her position is truly ambiguous.
Fran's political position is that of the second prince's fiance. If Ains is completely on the north side, his fiancé, Fran, will be treated the same way.
In other words, it has no effect on the neutral Duke and Frontier Count in the east. In fact, letters from both families that arrived were lined with letters of protest.
I have valued my ties with the neutral factions to the north and east more than the south since I became the queen, but my son's ignorant behavior has caused me to have to bear the burden of unnecessary trouble.
I sigh, take a sip of tea, and think about Fran-chan.
As expected, my fears were justified...
Although I have listed the most plausible reasons, there is no point in letting Fran accompany him on this trip. And also the meaning of taking her all the way into the forest.
This is clearly malicious. There was probably someone who was plotting to kill Fran this time.
I stopped my thinking there. Beyond that, even I...... the Kingdom cannot pursue. I was in a country where I had extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Even so...
There is one thing that confuses me about the current turmoil.
It is the existence of a spirit. This time, as things were progressing, probably with a plot to kill Fran, a spirit suddenly appeared and attacked Ains and the others.
And as a result, we lost two royal guard knights and had to listen to the hearing...
There were various statements made and there was no coherence.
The surviving Knights say that the [Saint] was touched by the spirit's wrath, and Ains and the [Saint] say that it was the messenger of an evil demon. I also heard from an adventurer who accompanied Fran on this trip, who helped Fran and brought back the bodies of the two royal guard knights, that they disappeared immediately.
The adventurer who helped Fran said that after the spirit disappeared, Fran was attacked by poison slimes. He also stated that it was probably the work of someone targeting Fran.
The person listening didn't seem to believe it, but I think the adventurer's story is believable.
Now that I think about it, the adventurer said he was Fran-chan's friend...
As I was thinking about Fran-chan's friend, an adventurer, I heard a gentle knock on the window. It is the sound of my beloved one coming.
When I opened the window, my beloved Strea sensei was standing on the balcony.
"I hear you're tired. I'm sorry for visiting."
"Yes, it's true. That stupid son really does bad things..."
I invited him into my room, offered him tea, and then started complaining. He listened to it quietly.
"I'm glad Fran-chan is safe... I have to thank that adventurer kid."
I said this after I had told him the outline of what had happened.
"Ah, you mean Light-kun? I thought he would definitely protect Fran-chan."
"Oh. Do you know him? I heard that the adventurer's name was Light. I also heard that he was Fran-chan's friend..."
"That's right. Light-kun also attends the academy. He and Fran-chan are very good friends. Fran-chan looks very happy when she's with him."
I was a little happy to hear that. Now that I think about it, she mentioned before that she had made a wonderful friend, and it was a person called Light...
"From sensei's tone, it seems that the child named Light is quite trusted by sensei.''
"Yeah. I'm indebted to him. Besides, it's not just me who trusts him, but Fran-chan as well."
"I see... fufu. Fran-chan said there's no one she likes..."
"No, those two are fine. I don't think they would do anything bad."
Having this conversation, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Laugh and joke around with someone you know and love. The gloomy feeling I had just now cleared up and I felt better.
Ahh... I hope Fran-chan spends her time just like me...

ReplyDeleteDo something about your worthless shitty incompetent son already! Can you do something, queen? Remove the fence that is firmly planted in your ass and take action for once.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chapter, well, let's not expect too much from this queen. She's the one who arranged for her niece to be married to her son and is now laughing about how he niece, who is trapped in an engagement arranged by her, won't tell her about someone she likes after she explicitly asked her niece to stay with her son to keep him measured. It's mostly the author's fault for writing this character as incompetent and ruining her niece's life but trying to make her seem like a likeable lighthearted character at the same time. Fufufu, she said she wanted her niece to be happy but forced her to be engaged to her crazy son and gives her an ultimatum, stay with her son and keep him measured or try and run away and endanger everyone you love. What a loving aunt this author wrote.
ReplyDeleteAs I thought, this woman was never suitable for being a mother or queen.
