The Demon King of Lust's Cheating Slow Life in Another World (WN): Chapter 74

RockQueen's Adventurer's Guild

"Light-kun is amazing after all. Such a scary-looking person admires you."

"He may look scary, but he is a very kind man."

Lida and Rain have been talking about Mohawk for a while now. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed because I feel like Mohawk took away my event...

I was hoping that if I could get rid of those three people, Lida and Rain would look at me with admiration...

While I'm feeling a little down, the stares around me are hurting me even more......

I don't know to what extent Mohawk is recognized in this guild, but I do understand that everyone respects Mohawk.

Because of Mohawk's absolute submission to me, I've been subjected to a variety of looks: expectation, suspicion, ridicule, envy, and awe......

Particularly awful were the reactions of the demi-human people.

Everyone looks at me and trembles...

Ah! This is that. Did they find out that I'm a Demon King?

No, is it a pattern like Lida's, where they can sense it but don't realize I'm a Demon King?

Meanwhile, we arrived at the receptionist.

The receptionist is a cute lady with rabbit ears.

However, perhaps because of the earlier exchange and the fact that I was a Demon King, she was very scared and started to respond to us.

"M-may I, help you..."

She bit her tongue and she is blushing. Cute.

"Um, I have come to register as an adventurer. I also came here with my familiar to renew the familiar registration issued at the Baron Garcia territory. I also have a letter of introduction from the Baron territory's guild master, so please take a look at that as well."

I handed the letter of introduction and the registration form to the receptionist, acting as if nothing had happened.

"Y-yes. Please wait a moment while the guild master checks it."

After saying that, the receptionist got up from her seat and disappeared into the back.

In the meantime, I thought it would be a good idea to wait here, so I went to the side and waited for a while.

About 10 minutes later, the receptionist returned.

"The guild master wants to meet you. I'll show you around."

With that said, we were guided to the guild master's room.

When we were shown into the guild master's room, Jereid-san was already there. On the one-seater sofa in front of him sat a well-dressed man with a beard and a look like that of a villain.

"Jereid-kun, are you sure he is Light-kun?"

"Yes. He is Light, the one who used [Recovery Magic]."

The guild master stood up, looked straight at me, and opened his mouth.

"I am Kaiser, in charge of the Adventurer's Guild in this city. First of all, I would like to thank you for saving the adventurers of my guild yesterday and for giving respect to the dead. Thanks to you, we were able to give the bodies to the bereaved families without causing them unnecessary trouble. Thank you."

Saying that, the guild master bowed his head.

Then he asked us to sit on the sofa and sat down himself.

"I have just read the letter of introduction from Ruckus-dono. You and the young lady... I think it was Rain-kun? We have already discussed the matter of your and her registration as adventurers. Since we have no objections, we will allow you to register as an adventurer with our guild."

After saying that, the guild master drinks tea before continuing.

"But... I'm sorry, I can't suddenly start you at the D-rank combat job. I don't doubt your abilities, but I can't let young people with a bright future to their deaths.

For your safety, you will start as F-rank supporters."

I tilted my head a little and asked the guild master.

"What is a supporter?"

"Umu. A supporter is simply a person who does the party's chores. It is a job that supports the party, such as carrying luggage, dismantling, preparing meals, and so on. Normally, only F and E ranks with a certain amount of experience are allowed to do this job.

While working as a supporter, you learn actual combat and learn combat skills, and then take the D-rank examination. This is a sort of probationary period for the supporters to gain experience while being assured of their safety."

"Um... do we need it?"

Rain asked.

"Yes. Beatrice-kun is assured of your excellence in both combat skills and knowledge, but there is one thing that you lack...... It's experience. I believe that even if you are good at something, it is meaningless without experience. And if you gain experience, you will naturally lose your conceit."

After hearing that, Rain fell silent.

"I understand. I will learn as a supporter."

I bowed my head in response. Rain also bowed her head as I did.

"Umu. Please do not overdo it and safely grow.

I'm looking forward to it."

The guild master smiled as he said that.

He looks different when he smiles......

After that, we left the Adventurers' Guild after successfully registering as adventurers and renewing Ginko's familiar registration.

"You didn't need me to explain."

I was a little amused to see Lida a little disgruntled.

  1. Kinda makes me think of real life. Work for years studying something in college to get a degree, try to get a job in that field and they force you to start in a crap position to learn the small differences that don't matter that much. Also how do you get experience in fighting monsters by not being allowed to fight monsters?
