Setting Up the Foundation for Living
Let's be honest. Adventurer ranks F and E do not make money.
The work of this rank is basically chores that anyone can do. This rank is intended as a remedy for needy children who reach the age of 12 or those who have lost their jobs.
Not only in the Adventurer's Guild, but also in the Commerce Guild, the work of the same rank is basically meant as a relief measure and a mediation for re-employment.
And although Rain and I joined a party and got the right to work as supporters, we are still F-rank and can't make money.
So I have to work in various ways so that we can live in this city.
This is just a front.
Even if we live in an inn, I have enough money to support a family of four for two or three years. If I continue to work as a supporter, it will be a little longer.
But I don't want to be a NEET. I know that men who don't work are not popular.
So I went to every job interview I could find in the city.
My companion for the interview was McQueen-san.
He has a lot of contacts in this town, so I decided to take advantage of him.
The first place we went was the Blacksmith Guild.
As expected, when I entered the nest of stubborn old men, they looked at me terribly.
They looked at me suspiciously because a kid they didn't know came in, but their expressions changed when they saw McQueen-san.
After that, McQueen-san introduced me to them and I showed them a letter of introduction from the Blacksmith Guild in the Baron territory, which finally got them to listen to me.
They were reluctant when I asked them to let me use the forge from time to time to do some blacksmithing.
At McQueen-san's recommendation, I showed them the sword I had made, and they immediately accepted it.
Thus, I was able to blacksmith in this city.
Next, we visited the Alchemy Guild.
This place was run as a guild on the third floor of a relatively quiet building, and unlike the Alchemy Guild in the Baron territory, the equipment and materials were neatly lined up.
The guild's guild master was not acquainted with McQueen-san, but he was willing to listen to me after I was introduced and gave them a letter of introduction.
They asked for a demonstration of alchemy.
I created a magic steel ingot and a magic stone with alchemy, and the guild master was amazed at the quality.
I was asked to work exclusively with him, but I explained the situation and managed to get him to understand.
With this, I got a place to make money with alchemy.
The last place we headed was the Apothecary Guild.
This one was easy. The letter of introduction and Grandma Suzuka's signature must have been quite effective, because after reading the letter of introduction, the guild master shook hands with me.
"For us, Suzuka-sama is a hero, so as her beloved disciple, we welcome you to join our guild. We look forward to working with you."
Hearing that, I felt a little better and handed over the recovery potions and other medicines that were stored in the [Spatial Magic] to the Apothecary Guild.
The guild master, who was satisfied with the quality of what I had made, added a little more to the price and handed it over to me.
A system has been established where I can also earn from the Apothecary Guild.
On the way home, McQueen-san looked amazed at me.
"No…... you have many talents and a first-rate for all of them...... I'm tired of being surprised......"
He let out a sigh and then muttered.
