In the Meantime, Buy a House
The day after I went to each guild for an interview to get my living arrangements in order.
Today I accompanied McQueen-san to the Commerce Guild. Of course, it was for a reason.
I was accompanied by Maria, Rain and Ginko. Why?
To get a house to live in this city.
Unfortunately, I don't have any contacts in the Commerce Guild.
So, like yesterday, I'm accompanying McQueen-san with the intention of getting him to help me out.
Rain is dressed in her usual adventurer's style outfit, but Maria is wearing a maid's uniform for the first time in a long time.
A maid outfit is probably the most comfortable for her.
Today, Maria is exuding a slightly excited atmosphere.
The Commerce Guild is a truly stylish building with an elegant appearance and decorations throughout.
However, once inside, a red carpet was laid out, and contrary to the atmosphere outside, it was a gorgeous and luxurious structure.
Honestly, I don't feel at ease.
When McQueen-san appeared at the counter, a staff member stood up and bowed before asking him about his business.
"This time, I came to assist him during a business meeting. This person is going to be my business partner, and he is going to live in this city. I would like you to introduce him to a good property."
"My name is Light, the person who was introduced. Pleased to meet you."
The staff was puzzled.
It would be difficult to introduce a house to a child dressed as an adventurer, even though I am a new customer.
"Well then, Light-san, I will go to a business meeting. Jereid-san and the others will come to pick us up on the way back, so please take your time looking around."
"Thank you, McQueen-san."
After exchanging these words, I parted with McQueen-san.
The staff showed me to the property window, and when I sat down, a male staff member who seemed to be a property manager came over to us.
The previous employee left after whispering lightly to the property manager.
"So, what kind of property are you looking for?"
Unlike the previous staff member, the property manager was somewhat
Unfriendly.
"It doesn't matter if I'm renting or buying, it should be a single-family home with at least three rooms, preferably with a bathroom and toilet."
"What are your preferences for renting or purchasing?"
"I have no particular preference. Please let me consider after confirming the price."
After answering that, the property manager silently started reading some documents. We had to wait for a while until he finished looking for a property.
The silent time was really awkward.
30 minutes of waiting. He took out five documents and laid them out so that we could see them.
"This is the property that meets your request. One is for lease and the rest are for purchase."
I looked at the five documents and thought.
"I'm sorry, can you remove this rental one from the list and allow me to check the rest of the property?"
"Yes, it is possible. Please wait a moment while we prepare a carriage for you."
Saying so, the property manager left his seat.
After another 30 minutes of waiting, the property manager called out to me from behind and we set off.
The first house was out of the question just by looking at it.
It's corroded in places and needs repair, and it's not good because it doesn't get enough sunlight. However, the only thing I can appreciate about the location is that it is close to the Adventurer's Guild.
The second house is close to the commercial district and seems to be convenient for shopping, but is generally small. It is a two-story building with four rooms and a bathroom, but all the rooms are small.
The third house is a one-story house with a garden near the east gate, a short distance from the center of the Adventurers' Guild and the commercial district. It has four rooms, and of course, a toilet and bath are provided. The house is well-maintained and clean, and all the rooms are spacious.
It seemed like a good choice without having to look at the fourth house. Maria especially liked the spacious kitchen.
We told the property manager that we had decided on this place and headed back to the Commerce Guild.
As soon as we returned to the counter, it was time to talk about the contract.
"Light-sama, are you an adventurer?"
"Yes."
I nodded and presented my adventurer card.
"F rank..."
The property manager's expression clouded at this point.
"The price is 230 gold coins, including all expenses, taking advantage of the preferential treatment in the Frontier Count's territory. We also accept payment in installments."
Maria and Rain behind me were surprised, but I wasn't really that surprised. Considering the amount of gold coins stored in [Spatial Magic]... I guess there's no problem?
"I'll pay in full."
The property manager was quite surprised by this.
His unfriendly expression suddenly changed.
In order to surprise him even more, I took out bags containing rewards from the Blacksmith Guild and Apothecary Guild from the [Spatial Magic].
"I think this should be enough. Please confirm."
The property manager's face froze.
"Is that [Spatial Magic]? I'll confirm it. Please wait a moment..."
After saying that, he carefully held the bag containing the gold coins and began checking with the other staff members. Another 30 minutes of waiting from there...
"The confirmation has been completed... I have indeed received 230 gold coins. These will be the remaining gold coins."
The property manager returned a bag with about a quarter remaining.
"This is your proof of ownership of the property. Thank you for your purchase."
After saying that, the property manager finally bowed his head in a friendly manner.
Thanks for the update
