Light, 10-Years-Old, Begins his Journey
In the morning, I told Sebas and Martha at the entrance of the annex that they could see me off from there, but they begged me to let them stay by my side until I left the mansion.
As usual, I tried to exit the mansion through the back door, but was stopped.
"Today, please come out through the main gate."
I was urged by Sebas to leave from the main gate, but...
The mansion's servants lined up on the path to the front gate, and when they saw me, they all bowed to me.
"They all said they wanted to see Light-sama off. You don't have to say a word. Everyone here knows that. So please continue on your way."
I was surprised, but continued on my way.
Some of them seemed to be sobbing, but until I reached the main gate, everyone kept their heads down and no one called out to me.
Apparently, they had their own thoughts about me. They know that I am treated coldly, that they couldn't do anything for me, and that they couldn't interact with me much......
I know. Even though I don't have a lot of interaction with them, the fact that they cared about me...
So when I got to the front gate, I said quietly.
"Thank you."
Then I turned to Sebas.
"Then... I'm going."
At these words, Sebas and Martha nodded silently and said a few short words to me.
"Good luck..."
With these words, I bowed my head and left the mansion with them looking at me behind my back.
Accompanying me were Maria, Rain, and Ginko.
Ginko seems to be happy to be out of the capital for the first time in a while, and is wagging her tail and excited.
(I know it's been a while, but... aren't you too excited?)
(What are you saying! Master! The last time I went out of town was last winter! And at that time, it was a nearby village, so I didn't have much time to play!)
(You're always playing with Rain...)
(I'm just playing around with that girl. I want to move more! Will this trip give me that opportunity? I'm looking forward to it, Master!)
I've asked Ginko to escort me on this trip, or rather, to scout ahead. Perhaps that's why she's so excited......
"You seem to be excited about going out for the first time in a while, Ginko-sama."
"I've been so busy that I haven't given Ginko-chan any attention recently."
Maria and Rain are smiling as they watch Ginko moving around.
The two are dressed differently today.
They are, of course, dressed for the trip.
Maria is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and boots instead of the usual maid's uniform.
Rain wears something like a short tank top with a chest plate I made. She is wearing shorts. Adventurer's style with navel and legs bare...
Aren't you cold? I asked...
[It's hot when I wear a cloak.]
Her reply. I want her to hide it a little more...
In the sense that I have trouble focusing my eyes on various things...
All three of us, including myself, are wearing coats, but aein's front is wide open, so one can see her navel.
I quickly headed towards the rendezvous point so that I wouldn't see it.
The rendezvous point is in front of the Adventurer's Guild.
Lida-sensei was already waiting.
"It's been a long time. Lida-sensei. Please take good care of me from now on."
"Jeez. Sensei is not good. You're better than me when it comes to magic skills. Lida is fine. Lida."
Lida smiled back at me.
I was thinking of thanking the Guild master for the letter of introduction at the guild, but he seems to be busy in the morning.
The adventurers inside noticed me and responded to me by raising their hands or bowing their heads.
I had already said my goodbyes the day before, so they didn't call out to me.
In the meantime, the peddler's carriage arrived.
"Good morning. Thank you for taking care of us."
"Yes. I look forward to working with you."
Since we knew each other, we greeted each other briefly and got into the carriage. It was a little cramped when we got in, but once we left the capital, we will go on foot. We got in just for the sake of hiding.
Swayed by the carriage and slowly looking at the capital.
The city where I spent 10 years... brings back many memories.
The Adventurer's Guild and the Knight Order, Master Shan's forge, the Alchemist's Guild's warehouse-like house, Grandma Suzuka's house...
As I was immersed in memories, I saw things I never thought I would see.
Master Shan, Grandma Suzuka, and all the alchemists were seeing me off.
Of course, everyone was silent and waving as they saw me off.
It was a silent send-off, but... there was something that was conveyed to me even without using words.
I couldn't help but have tears welling up in my eyes...
When we arrived at the north gate, the Guild master and Beatrice-san from the Adventurer's Guild were waiting for us in addition to the escort adventurers other than Lida.
I said a few words to the Guild master.
"Thank you for the letter of introduction."
"Yeah. I look forward to seeing you make it big as an adventurer."
It was short, but I thought it was enough.
"Light. Be well!"
Bear-san called out to me while crying. The tears of a strong-faced old man are disgusting.
While thinking that, I smiled and called out to Bear-san.
"Bear-san! I'm off!"
And so I left the Baron territory with everyone seeing me off.
Thanks for the update
